We would like to give you some advice here, especially as we’re in this business……..
Generally speaking, when you are putting together your wedding budget, the entertainment element is always the last item to be finalised! Which, I don’t quite understand, because it’s quite an important element ? Your guests will remember the wedding, from the fabulous entertainment you put on for them to have ‘ The time of their lives’.
Of course, when I refer to entertainment it does include the band or disco too etc, because this is key as well …to have a good dance with all the family and friends, so you can really let your hair down. How often do you go to a wedding ?
The reason why, I am saying don’t leave it too late, is because the peak for wedding season is July, August, September. These dates tend to get booked up very quickly.
So, imagine, you’ve been trailing around wedding fairs and you’ve seen entertainment suppliers and met them too. Meeting them is important because it will give you an idea of what sort of ‘service’ they would provide at the wedding or party. Also, normally at the wedding fairs there are offers/discounts to entice you to booking with them….why not take advantage of these ?
When you get home you maybe, choose the ones you really like and put them in a pile, this is left for a few months , until c.3months before the Big Day.
Now, this is where it becomes a bit difficult. The reason for this is that if, the wedding is in peak wedding season, the chances of you getting your particular date are going to be slim. Yes, you can always go with an alternative supplier, but it’s not the same! You would not want to make compromises on your Big Day would you ?
Therefore, if you see a supplier you like, find out their terms and conditions, ( if a supplier is asking for full payment, which will be non refundable – KEEP AWAY!!) and if there is a possibility of a refund on the deposit within reason, why not make the booking – SAVE MONEY and take advantage of the Offers on hand !!!! If nearer the time you change your mind talk to your supplier and make alternative arrangements.
If you leave the booking until nearer your Big Day the chances are, you will pay premium prices, but even worse you won’t get the supplier you want or you may not get any suppliers at all !
It’s a false economy, to leave the decision until the last minute. remember, save money book early especially if the wedding is more than 3 months away, you’ve got nothing to loose, but lots to gain.
So, take our advice book early to avoid disappointment !
